Warranty & Care
A piece meant to outlast you deserves a promise that does the same.
Every Hand & Hewn piece is exactly what we say it is: solid Sheesham throughout, traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, no veneers, no particle board, no shortcuts.
We stand behind the structural integrity of our work. If a joint or structural element fails under normal residential use, write to us — the artisans who built your piece will repair or restore it. Transit damage is covered separately by full-value shipping insurance on every commission.
Caring for Sheesham
Sheesham asks very little, and repays it with a patina that deepens for decades.
WEEKLY
- Dust with a soft, dry cloth, following the grain
- Wipe spills promptly; never let water stand
SEASONALLY
- Keep pieces away from radiators, vents, and direct sun
- Rotate objects that live on the surface so the patina deepens evenly
YEARLY
- Nourish the grain with a natural wood oil or fine paste wax
- Check and gently snug any hardware on storage pieces
The Fine Grain
What does the guarantee cover?
Every piece is guaranteed to be what we say it is: solid Sheesham throughout, traditional joinery, no veneers, and no particle board. We stand behind the structural integrity of our work — if a joint or structural element fails under normal residential use, contact us and we will make it right.
How do I care for the finish day to day?
Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Wipe spills promptly with a barely damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid silicone sprays and ammonia-based cleaners, which can cloud a hand-applied finish. Use coasters under glasses and trivets under anything hot.
Will the color change over time?
Gently, and for the better. Sheesham deepens and warms with age, developing the patina that makes old rosewood furniture so sought after. To keep the change even, avoid placing a piece in prolonged direct sunlight and rotate objects that sit on its surface.
What about dry winters and humid summers?
Solid wood breathes with the seasons. Keep pieces away from radiators and vents, and aim for moderate indoor humidity. Fine seasonal movement in solid Sheesham is natural and is exactly what the traditional joinery is built to accommodate.
